Local Shipwreck
Recent big seas have exposed the Buster shipwreck unseen for 15 years. The 1893 Buster was built in Nova Scotia, Canada in 1884 and arrived at Woolgoolga from Sydney to load timber bound for New Zealand. She put down anchors and cable, on the (then) Woolgoolga Jetty in wild weather and ended up beaching stern-first 200m north of the beach. You can see the wreck in all her glory outside Woolgoolga Lakeside Caravan Park.
